Eagle Mount's Aquatics Program offers year round therapeutic recreational opportunities to individuals with a wide range of disabilities in southwest Montana. The support of 175 volunteers and a trained and dedicated staff, allow people with disabilities to enjoy the freedom of movement and sense of empowerment that water can offer.

The Aquatics program serves all abilities and all levels of involvement. Separate therapy sessions are offered to individuals with Parkinson's, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Head Trauma and Spinal Cord Injuries. An individual plan of action is prepared with the individual’s goals and objectives in mind. The exercises used in aquatic therapy stretch and increase muscle tone, expand range of motion, and increase endurance, as well as give a sense of relaxation and calming. More vigorous exercise classes such as water aerobics are also offered.

In addition to therapeutic exercise classes, swim skill classes are offered for various age groups and abilities where participants acquire lifelong water safety and swimming skills. Water aerobic classes are also offered.

Family members of many participants gain the added benefit of support and connection with others as family members interact and visit while the participant is in the pool. The connection between the volunteer offers a time for social interaction and friendship. All people with disabilities whether children or adult or if their disability is temporary or permanent, can benefit from the warm, therapeutic, and safe environment of the pool.
