Through Eagle Ski, children and adults with a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities can enjoy the thrill and challenge of snow sports. An 8-week program offers Alpine skiing and snowboarding at Bridger Bowl, Nordic skiing and snowshoeing at Bohart Ranch. Special instruction is available to visiting skiers, by appointment, all winter long at Bridger Bowl, Big Sky & Moonlight Basin. Using specially designed equipment and adaptive techniques, anyone with a disability can learn to ski. The benefits of skiing far outreach just learning a skill. Self-esteems soar, limitations are challenged and shattered, potentials are discovered and unleashed, and new relationships are created while sharing the joys of skiing or snowboarding.

Many Eagle Mount skiers have gone on to higher achievements in competitive skiing, or have become volunteer instructors themselves. Others, achieve a degree of independence that allows them to rejoin their families in the enjoyment of winter sports.

Eagle Mount is an affiliate of Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA). A registered Snowsport School with Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), Eagle Ski serves approximately 150 skiers from south central Montana in downhill and cross country skiing every winter. Disabilities include, but are not limited to, paraplegia, quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, post polio, post stroke, amputations, visual impairments, traumatic head injuries, autism, developmental disabilities. With the advent of specially adaptive equipment, anyone can participate.

Eagle Ski has a core staff of highly skilled, experienced instructors who supervise 250 volunteer instructors specially trained in adaptive skills. Most lessons are private using one or more instructors per student. Sometimes two or more instructors are needed for safe management of the adaptive equipment. Eagle Mount uses the latest, state of the art adaptive equipment available, including mono-skis and bi-skis for para and quadriplegics, and outriggers for amputees and individuals needing support to stand.
